Working opposite hours from Tyler makes it tricky to try to fit in doing holiday activities. Luckily we have been able to do some fun stuff on Saturday nights. Arleigh loves seeing the lights so all of our activities have been going to some sort of lights. First was the lights at thanksgiving point, second the zoo lights. She liked that one because it was a combo platter of animals AND lights. Lastly, temple lights. Wait, I lied, we also went to the christmas sing along at the energy solutions arena. I am continually impressed at how beautiful it all is, and how fun it is to see that most people are enjoying this time of year cheerfully. The sing along was awesome because it was a huge group of people getting together just to sing Christmas songs. We were all celebrating together the birth of our savior. There was even a teenage boy sitting next to me that probably normally would have been to cool for school, but he was singing along just like the rest of us. It was awesome.
I know that this is not all of what Christmas is about, but it's fun to get into the season and spend time with family. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father sent his son for me. That Mary and Joseph were willing to raise him and that they were righteous people. I have been incredibly blessed to have been raised in a home where the gospel was prevalent and where I have been able to realize how true the gospel is. I am going to have a merry Christmas, and I hope you all do too! I hope you remember the blessings you have over some of the trials, because in that Heavenly Father can show you he loves you as an individual. He is your Heavenly Father and you are his son or daughter. You are important and he will always be there for you. I have this confirmed to me constantly. I love you all and am grateful for the influence each of you has had in my life for good ( I say this because I'm sure only people I know are reading this).
Okay, now for photos!
